The Philosophy

dCompress is part-residency, part-retreat and part-unconference. Residents are invited to step out of the transactional mode and enter a space of creativity, community and wellbeing.
Our aim is to cultivate a space for creative expression and meaningful conversation; to build collective meaning through mindful connections and represent these moments onchain.

We invite you to focus on your wellbeing, contribute to a community and reclaim your creativity in a beautiful villa a stone’s throw from Brussels after ETH CC.
You can contribute your own workshop, attend meditation and yoga sessions and dedicate attention to a creative work which will form part of our collection.
The Theme
what makes us human?
In the age of bots, state surveillance and generative AI, the existential question of what it really means to be human has come to the forefront.
To give some additional inspiration, we have provided four tracks to explore: technology, culture, governance & community. Each can be focused on during the residency.

The Collection
a cocreated release minted onchain
Every resident will work on a creative work - a poem, sculpture, performance, piece of music, recorded conversation - either individually or in a group. Each work will be published within the collection and serves as an anthology of the collective experience.

Included: the full program of unconference workshops; access to the pool and sauna; coworking and wifi; yoga and meditation sessions; light breakfast & lunch every day.
Not included: dinners in the evening from Sunday to Thursday; day excursions; transport to and from Brussels.

Yes! Babies & kids under 4 are welcome free of charge. An accompanying bed can be put in with a private room.

Yes. But there will have to be a vibe check to ensure that the pup enhances the unwinding process rather than detract 🐶

Yes! We will give you the option of bringing someone else along to share with. If accepted, we will make sure you are in the same room before you purchase.

Yes. There will be designated areas to do work on a laptop & take regular calls.

We will have a variety of food for breakfast & lunch, catering to vegetarians and vegans too. If you have specific dietary requirements please let us know.
For dinner, we will be eating out at different restaurants each night but will always be mindful of different restaurants.

The castle is in the town of Huy and is only 1.5 hours by car and public transport, with easy access from Brussels. We will also explore putting on a private bus to and from the castle at an additional cost (€30-50).

We will be using Unlock to process tickets. You can pay in fiat or crypto. We will accept USDC across a variety of L2s.
